Privacy Policy

Pater (“we”) is made by Pater Apps LLC, a Texas limited liability company (formation pending). This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect and why. Pater is not yet released; this policy covers this website and the app when it launches.
Waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we store your email address and the date you signed up. We use it only to tell you about Pater’s launch and major updates. We do not sell or share it for marketing. You can ask us to delete it any time.
The app
- No account required. The app uses a random device identifier to keep your settings, limits, and usage working. It is not linked to your name.
- Anonymous telemetry. We collect diagnostic codes and counts (for example, that an error happened or a feature was used) to fix bugs and improve the app. We do not collect the content of your reading or your notes in telemetry.
- Questions you ask. When you ask Pater a question, the text is sent to our servers and to an AI service provider that processes it to generate an answer. Providers act on our behalf and may not use it to advertise to you. Please do not include sensitive personal information in questions.
- Crash reports. If the app crashes, a technical report (device model, OS version, error details) may be sent to our error-tracking provider.
What we do not do
No ads. We do not sell your personal information or share it with data brokers or advertisers.
Service providers
We use trusted providers for hosting, storage, error tracking, and AI processing. They handle data only to provide services to us.
Retention
We keep waitlist emails until launch communications end or you ask us to delete them. Telemetry and logs are kept only as long as needed to run and improve the service.
Children
Pater is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Your choices
You can request access to or deletion of your data by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights; we will honor them.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change and revise the effective date.
